XPO Logistics Plans To Open Office In Charlotte And Hire 200

A logistics company plans to hire up to 200 people over the next three years to staff a new operations center in Charlotte. XPO Logistics is based in Michigan and arranges freight transportation for companies.
At the announcement today, the company's Chief Operating Officer Sean Fernandez said the deciding factor in choosing North Carolina was the state's $3.2 million incentive package.
Governor Bev Perdue noted the state is attractive to business for other reasons, too.

We've all experienced it. A cashier holds our cash up to the light or marks it with a pen to test its authenticity. Counterfeiting is a big problem. In the last year, almost a million counterfeit dollars have been confiscated in the Charlotte region. Local police, businesses, and the Secret Service are all fighting it on a daily basis.
