Barred Owl Study in Charlotte
We look at the Barred Owl population in the Charlotte area. Charlotte's Barred Owl population is so strong that the city was chosen to be the site for the most extensive Barred Owl research study ever attempted. We'll be joined by experts to talk about the study, why there are so many Barred Owls here and where they live in the city. Plus, a Barred Owl joins us in the studio. Guests Rob Bierregaard - UNC-Charlotte ecologist and ornithologist Marek Smith - Natural Resources Coordinator for Mecklenburg County Parks and Recreation Contact the show: 704-926-9323, 800-603-9323 or charlottetalks@wfae.org.
