Today, a pop culture happy hour, with superheroes galore! We review the latest summer movies with our local film critics Matt Brunson and Sean O’Connell. Then, a preview of Heroes Con which has become a mainstay annual event for comic book fans. Now in its 36th year, it draws about 50,000 people to the convention center each year and continues to grow. Mike Collins talks with the man behind it all - Shelton Drum.
Part One: Summer Movies with Local Film Critics
The slate of summer movies is upon us. This year has already seen some big blockbusters - with Black Panther released in February and Avengers: Infinity Wars starting the summer seasonearly this year in April.
Some familiar characters are returning in a number of sequels. The latest Star Wars movie Solo has struggled at the box office and could become the first in the franchise’s history to lose money. Is Star Wars fatigue setting in?
The bawdy anti-hero Deadpool is back and so are Disney's family favorites The Incredibles. And dinosaurs roar their way back onto the big screen in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom next week. We'll poll our local film critics about their favorites so far and their most anticipated flicks of the summer.
