Seventeen people were killed and more injured when a 19-year-old gunman opened fire in a Florida High School this week. We'll talk about the response to the attack from local officials and what they propose to keep students in our area safe.
At least 45 people have been arrested in Charlotte this week in what has been called a “coordinated takedown” of violent offenders. CMPD, the US Attorney’s office, the ATF and the Department of Public Safety all worked together in the effort. We’ll talk about who was arrested and why the effort happened now.
New legislation has passed in the state house that gives NC school districts more time to reduce K-3 class size and more funding to pay for the additional teachers. CMS officials look at the legislation as positive, but some say this is not enough. We’ll discuss the details.
Election filing has now opened, officially kicking off campaign season for the 2018 local election. Who is running and where will the big races be?
And, might we finally see some movement on the future of the Eastland Mall site? Officials say there could be a plan in place by the summer. We’ll get an update on the progress.
