Charlotte Talks: Mike and the Mayor

Thursday, December 13th 2018

Mike Collins and Mayor Vi Lyles discuss successful efforts to bring Honeywell’s Corporate Headquarter to town and keep Lending Tree here, as well as news that Charlotte City Council has put off any decision of four-year terms. They'll also look back on 2018 and some of the most notable developments including the mayor’s success in bringing the 2020 Republican Convention to town, and having voters say yes to affordable housing bonds.

On the next Charlotte Talks, host Mike Collins is joined by Mayor Vi Lyles.

It’s another edition of Mike and the Mayor- and this time, in addition to discussing what’s most important right now in Charlotte, like the Honeywell and LendingTree announcements and the council putting off discussion of four-year terms, we’ll also take a look through the biggest Charlotte stories of the year through the eyes of the mayor.

From the successful 2020 Republican National Convention bid and the unsuccessful Amazon bid, to millions in housing bonds for low income housing, and from Hurricane Florence’s effects on Charlotte, to how well the city helped our homeless population handle the latest winter weather, it’s been a busy year.

It's an End of Year edition of Mike and the Mayor to discuss the highs and lows and what Charlotte can expect in 2019.

Guest:

Vi Lyles, Mayor of Charlotte
