CMS Superintendent Clayton Wilcox plans to ask for $9 million to secure schools. According to the Charlotte Observer, Wilcox said the district would use it for fencing campuses, improving surveillance, and "hardening doorways." The topic came up at a meeting between the CMS board and Matthews’ town commissioners Tuesday night. Wilcox didn’t give any other information about the plan.
