Got a bike? Gas Prices Stay High

(10/05/05) Drivers in North Carolina are paying more at the pump than in any other state in the Continental U.S. with the exception of the District of Columbia. The American Automobile Association monitors gas prices daily and finds the average gallon of regular unleaded costs $3.08. North Carolina gets 90% of its gas from two pipelines that originate in Texas. North Carolina is not alone. According to AAA, drivers in states across the south are paying some of the highest prices for gas in the country.
