Union County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a teen who they say robbed a 9-year-old boy’s lemonade stand at gunpoint last Saturday.
The Sheriff’s Office saidin a statement Wednesday that detectives identified the teen through security footage from a location close to where the robbery took place. Officials are not releasing the teen’s name because he is a juvenile, but said he will be held in custody until his hearing in juvenile court.
The teen faces charges of robbery with a dangerous weapon as well as possession of drug paraphernalia.
The 9-year-old boy told deputies that he was robbed of $17. The boy was selling lemonade to save up for a lawn mower. He received a brand new riding lawn mower from Lowe’s after the company heard about the incident.
