Trump 2020 Flag Spotted On State Owned North Carolina Ferry

The North Carolina Department of Transportation is investigating after photos of a pro-Donald Trump flag on a state-operated ferry on the Outer Banks were shared on social media.

The Norfolk Virginian Pilot reports the flag with the words “Trump 2020” was flown on the MV Frisco ferry during a run between Hatteras and Ocracoke.  One photo shows the flag flying alongside the U.S. and state flag.   A spokesperson for the state’s Ferry Division says the flag was up during only one trip.

The North Carolina Ferry System said on their Facebook that "putting any sort of campaign material on a state-owned vessel is not appropriate." The ferry system is working with NC DOT's Office of Employee Relations in investigating the matter and will "then take the appropriate disciplinary action."
