Dr. James Tabor from UNC Charlotte has spent much time researching and writing about the historical Jesus, looking back at ancient documents and artifacts to piece together details about his life. It makes sense that after his work on the historical Jesus, Dr. Tabor would turn to Paul, a man who never met Jesus, but one who is credited with shaping Christianity as we know it today. We’ll be joined by James Tabor to talk about his findings, laid out in his new book Paul and Jesus - about Paul’s influence in Christianity and in human history as a whole, Christianity before Paul, and much more.

Passages Bible Exhibition

Over the past three years, Steve Green, president of retailer Hobby Lobby, has amassed one of the world’s largest private collections of biblical texts and artifacts. He’s taken this collection on the road and is sharing it with the masses through the exhibition Passages, which is now on display in Charlotte. Steve Green joins us to talk about why he started the Green Collection and the surprising speed at which he accumulated such an impressive collection of these artifacts. We’ll find out why he decided to share the collection with the public and hear from biblical experts about some of the artifacts themselves, when Charlotte Talks.

Was Jesus Married? UNC Charlotte Religion Expert Assesses Latest Suggestion

A Harvard historian has made public a papyrus fragment that purportedly quotes Jesus as making reference to his "wife".   Dr. James Tabor, chair of Religious Studies at UNC Charlotte has done extensive research on early Christianity and he talks about the newly-revealed discovery in this interview with WFAE's Mark Rumsey.

Religious groups are among the many causes and companies hoping to capitalize on the media spotlight soon to shine on Charlotte for the DNC. Muslims have planned a mass prayer. Evangelical Christians will call the nation to repentance in a Sunday revival. An interfaith prayer service will bring attention to the needs of children.
