WFAE PROFILE

WFAE is a thriving, energetic public radio and public media organization headquartered in and serving Charlotte, NC, a Top-25 market. WFAE has consistently won awards for its news excellence, including 5 recent local Edward R. Murrow Awards as well as a National Murrow. WFAE is often named the best news station and the most informative news provider in local publications.

We are a community-based non-profit, priding ourselves in a creative and supportive work environment and in our technical leadership in audio production, HD Radio (3 program channels), digital content and social media.

WFAE has a staff of 27 full-time and 7 part-time employees. We have a strong fiscal foundation for our $4 million annual budget. Our facilities are custom-designed and we have a pleasant professional setting in an office park overlooking a private lake.


Membership Manager
The Membership department is looking for an individual who is self-motivated, organized, and detail oriented. We need a team player who is flexible and able to work with other departments.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and execute on-air fundraising campaigns
  • Involved in the daily operations of the membership department
  • Works closely with the Gift Processing Coordinator
  • Recruit, train and manage volunteers for fundraising campaigns
  • Responsible for all membership mailing campaigns (renewal, lapsed, acquisition)
  • Familiar with telemarketing campaigns
  • Knowledgeable with budgets
  • Perform other tasks perceived, assigned and/or required that contribute to the smooth running of the department and to the achievement of department and station goals

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor degree preferred or equivalent
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and have knowledge working with a membership data base program (a plus if familiar with MemSys)
  • Collaborative; team player
