Crowded House In Concert

Let's get one thing straight: Crowded House isn't a one-hit wonder. Sure, the Australian band is known by '80s music fans for its 1987 hit "Don't Dream It's Over" (and maybe the subsequent "Something So Strong"), but songwriter Neil Finn has actually guided different incarnations of the band through six full-length albums and earned critical acclaim for his solo albums and side projects.

After releasing four albums in 11 years, the band broke up in 1996, but tragedy brought Crowded House back together a decade later: Original band member Paul Hester committed suicide in 2005, spurring the remaining members to reconnect. The group's comeback album, Time on Earth, was warmly received and called some of Crowded House's most personal and deeply moving material. This summer's follow-up, Intriguer, is just as solid and has the band stateside for a national tour. Click the link above to hear the pop-rock veterans perform at World Cafe Live in Philadelphia.
