Davidson Leaders Want To Limit Some Mi-Connection Disclosure
Davidson Town Council may ask lawmakers to keep some information regarding its financially-troubled Mi-Connection cable/communications system off limits to the public, reports DavidsonNews.net. Town Manager Leamon Brice tells David Boraks that the towns that own Mi-Connection - Davidson and Mooresville - want the ability to withhold information such as marketing plans. He says that information helps competitors. "We would seek to keep the same kind of proprietary information that any other business in this industry would do," he said. Still, the resolution before council has stirred some concern from residents like Andy Beard, DavidsonNews.Net reports. "The citizens of Davidson are entitled to total transparency of the workings of MI Connection, the successes and the shortcomings," Beard said in an e-mail to Brice. Update: The Davidson Town Council approved the legislative wish-list involving Mi-Connection at Tuesday night's meeting. DavidsonNews.Net has the story here.
