CHS Frustrated With Meck Officials On Hospital Request

Carolinas HealthCare System is threatening to build a planned 44-bed psychiatric hospital outside Mecklenburg County. Michael Tarwater is frustrated the county hasn't approved the project, although it has received state approval. The hospital would be built in Huntersville. The Charlotte Observer's Ames Alexander has the story here. He also writes here about the county's effort to renegotiate its contract with CHS. And here's Tarwater's recent letter to county commissioners in which he threatens to build the hospital somewhere else.
