Hummingbird Research in the Charlotte Region It's peak hummingbird season in our region and bird enthusiasts and researchers alike are gearing up to learn what they can about these tiny birds as they "flock" to the area. Chief among the researchers is Susan Campbell, who has been capturing, banding and releasing hummingbirds in North Carolina since 1999. She'll join us to talk about why it's important to research hummingbirds, and about what she's learned so far-including migration patterns, their feeding habits. Guest Susan Campbell - Wildlife researcher affiliated with both the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences and the Hummer Bird Study Group. She's currently at work doing banding for research on hummingbirds at Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens and has been researching hummingbirds in NC since 1999. Add and read comments
