Charlotte's Northwest Corridor Project Johnson C. Smith University has long been at the iconic heart of Charlotte's historic Westside. Recently the University has worked to expand its reach beyond the campus and to partner with the city on infrastructure projects such as a spur of the trolley line and the construction of a new arts facility outside the campus walls. It's part of a much larger plan to renovate and stimulate business growth in the Northwest Corridor. State Senator Malcolm Graham has been instrumental in crafting the Northwest Corridor Project and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Planning Director, Debra Campbell will be task with bringing it to life.
