Gwendolyn Glenn

CMS Superintendent Clayton Wilcox plans to ask for $9 million to secure schools. According to the Charlotte Observer, Wilcox said the district would use it for fencing campuses, improving surveillance, and "hardening doorways." The topic came up at a meeting between the CMS board and Matthews’ town commissioners Tuesday night. Wilcox didn’t give any other information about the plan. He told the newspaper he wants to talk more with county officials and the CMS board before providing any other details.
