Leadership Circle

WFAE’s Leadership Circle, an evolution of our Future Society, is a community of listeners and donors who make annual gifts of $1,200 or more. These investments are a critical part in funding the delivery of our journalism that informs, enriches, and inspires.

Many of listeners join the Leadership Circle for the first time by increasing their sustaining membership to a $100/month donation, but there are many other ways to join, including making a gift of stock, direct support from a donor advised fund, make a vehicle donation of $1,200+, or allocate your IRA charitable rollover.

Leadership Circle Recognition Levels:

President: $20,000 and up
Manager: $10,000 - $19,999
Editor: $5,000 - $9,999
Reporter: $2,000 - $4,999
Producer: $1,200 - $1,999

Benefits:

Leadership Circle donors enjoy special access to events and information, including opportunities to connect and engage both with fellow public radio nerds and WFAE journalists.

We invite Leadership Circle donors to a private tour of our studios, either visiting our University City location near UNC Charlotte or to sit in on a live broadcast of "Charlotte Talks with Mike Collins" during the weekly Friday Local News Roundup in our uptown studio at Spirit Square.

Leadership Circle donors are recognized in our Annual Report, may request a day sponsorship, and also have the opportunity to have their gift to be used as an Inspiration Challenge to motivate listeners to become first-time donors with one of our quarterly on-air fundraising campaigns.

In addition to our signature WFAE Presents fundraising event each spring and the Ed Williams First Amendment Award each fall, we host a variety of events with local and national media personalities, including Ted Koppel in June 2019. We ensure Leadership Circle donors get advanced notice about all our special events, including our popular WFAEats Chocolate Tasting each February and our Charlotte Squawks VIP Preview.
