(5/22/06) When Mecklenburg County Manager Harry Jones outlined his budget proposal last week, he included plans for a 1.5% property tax cut. Charges immediately came from prominent politicians, including Governor Mike Easley, that the county was improperly using new lottery revenue to, in effect, pay for the tax cut. WFAE's Craig Fahle spoke to County Commission Chairman Parks Helms about the controversy.
