A deputy-involved shooting at a Mooresville home Saturday night left one person injured, according to reporting by WBTV.

The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office told the television station that deputies had been called to a home on Tall Oak Drive around 10 p.m. to respond to a dispute between a father and a son. Deputies reportedly heard screaming inside the home as they approached.

Authorities told WBTV that when a deputy knocked on the door, a man answered it with a gun and the deputy — fearing for her safety — shot the man in the abdomen. The man was taken to the hospital. Authorities have not released his name or condition.

The deputy was not injured and the State Bureau of Investigation is looking into the shooting. The Sheriff’s Office refused to comment further at this time.
