Amelie's French Bakery May Be Forced To Move From North Davidson Site

Popular French bakery Amelie’s may be forced to move from its original location on North Davidson Street.

The Charlotte Observer reports the owners of the building, which houses the bakery and several other small businesses, are entangled in a legal dispute. At least one owner wants to sell the property. Documents filed with North Carolina Business Court show that there is conflict over how the business is run, including who can negotiate leases.

The lawsuit, first reported on by the Charlotte Business Ledger, dates back to early 2017. Amelie’s opened its flagship location in the NoDa neighborhood in 2008. The bakery shares the building with other small businesses including NoDa Market & Deli, Kure Vape Shop and NoDa @ 28th Creative Arts Studios.

Since its opening Amelie's has expanded to several locations in Charlotte, Rock Hill and Atlanta.
