Arrest Made In Letter Containing Bomb Threats To Alexander County Schools

Authorities charged an Alexander County inmate Monday for mailing a letter containing bomb threats against three area schools and a Taylorsville state prison.

Though specific schools were not named in the letter, it did state the incidents would take place near Dec. 27. Police say Sadarius Trumane Douglas, 24, mailed the letter to the Raleigh-based N.C. Prisoner Legal Services.

Douglas was charged Monday after the state crime lab found his fingerprints and DNA on the letter. Douglas is charged with three counts of mass violence on educational property and one count of making a threat of a destructive device.

WBTV reports that Douglas admits to licking to the envelope, but he denies writing the letter, though claims he knows who did.

He is serving a 10-year sentence for indecent liberties and statutory rape.
