Charlotte City Council member Justin Harlow is not running for reelection.
Harlow, a Democrat who was first elected in 2017, represents District 2, which covers part of uptown and northwest Charlotte.
Harlow said he plans to expand his dental practice and doesn't have time to continue serving.
Greg Phipps, a Democrat who represents District 4 in northeast Charlotte, is also not running again. Phipps has been on council since 2013.
Primaries for City Council and mayor are Sept. 10. Filing for candidates starts July 5th.
