Charlotte Talks: City Council Members On Pandemic, Violence Prevention, RNC, Response To Protests

NICK DE LA CANAL / WFAE

Wednesday, July 8, 2020

Halfway through a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad year, we talk about the challenges facing us with four Charlotte City Council members.

On Dec. 31 of this year, it’s safe to say no one on earth will be sad to see 2020 go. The worst pandemic in a century has devastated the world and already taken the lives of 120,000 Americans.

That scourge is worsening here and many other places around the country. But we also face unrest over decades of systemic racism and the challenge of dealing with what appears to be a tipping point in history. And, of course, the economy is in the trash and unemployment is soaring.

Guests

Dimple Ajmera, Charlotte City Council at-large representative

Tariq Bokhari, Charlotte City Council District 6 representative

Ed Driggs, Charlotte City Council District 7 representative

Larken Egleston, Charlotte City Council District 1 representative
