Mike sits down with religious experts to discuss some of the sex scandals facing some denominations and how churches are dealing with the reality of LGBTQ people and same-sex marriage.

For years, the Catholic church has been rocked by scandals involving priests accused of sexually assaulting thousands as church leaders covered it up.

Last month, the Houston Chronicle reported nearly 400 Southern Baptist leaders have been accused of sexual misconduct. In February, the United Methodist Church rejected a measure loosening restrictions on LGBTQ clergy and same-sex marriage.  Religious experts share their views on the way forward.

Guests:

James Howell, pastor, Myers Park United Methodist

Tim Funk, former religion reporter, Charlotte Observer

Kent Brintnall, religious studies professor, UNCC

Elizabeth Dias, religion reporter, New York Times
