Police say one person was shot to death Sunday morning in east Charlotte.

Someone called 911 about 10:11 a.m. to report a shooting in the 2800 block of Audrey Street, near Eastway Drive. When Charlotte-Mecklenburg police got to the scene, they found a person dead with a gunshot wound in the parking lot of an apartment complex.

As of early Sunday afternoon, police had not identified the person who was killed, only describing him as male. No information about what could have led to the shooting was immediately released, but police said they were speaking to people involved and were not looking for any suspects.

Sunday's death is the second homicide reported in Charlotte in the past week. On Thursday, 23-year-old Li Y was shot and killed near apartments close to Paces Oaks and East W.T. Harris boulevards in the University City area.

No arrests have been made in Thursday's homicide. There have been at least 32 homicides in Charlotte this year, according to WFAE's records. Last year was Charlotte's deadliest since 1993, with 107 homicides reported by CMPD.

CMPD is asking anyone with information on either case to call 704-432-8477.
