Update Dec. 18: Police said in December that James Anderson's death was the result of a fall, not homicide.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police previously said they were treating the suspicious death of a 60-year-old man just south of uptown Charlotte April 5 as a homicide.
Police were called around 3 p.m. to the 100 block of Morrow Street, just south of I-277 near Central Piedmont Community College. They found a man with apparent trauma, who was pronounced dead on the scene by MEDIC.
The man was been identified as James Scott Anderson.
Also April 5, CMPD announced that a 50-year-old man was charged with murder in the shooting death of a woman north of uptown Charlotte April 3 Tomka Antonio McDowell faces charges of first-degree murder, attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
