Charlotte Mecklenburg Police said Wednesday it has identified one suspect after an early morning shooting in uptown left one person dead and three people injured.
The shooting occured around 1 a.m. outside an apartment building at 305 North Graham Street. Police said someone had rented an apartment in the building for a post-high school graduation party.
CMPD captain Rob Dance wouldn't say whether the suspect was in police custody or whether the suspect was in the hospital.
"I’m not going to comment on who the person is, where they are at, or any more information," he said. "It’s part of the investigation. I just think it’s important for the community to know that this person is no longer a threat out there currently."
The person who was killed was 24 years old. Police say a 22-year-old and 19-year-old were wounded, along with a 16-year-old who is in critical condition.
CMPD declined to release their names. Police said at least two guns were used in the shooting.
