A driver died after she collided with a parked truck in west Charlotte Wednesday afternoon.
CMPD says Sandra Jackson, 62, hit the back end of a Freightliner flatbed truck that was parked on West Boulevard near Billy Graham Parkway around 2:30 pm. Police say the truck was unoccupied and had been parked in the right lane for about an hour and a half with its flashing lights on when the wreck occurred.
Jackson was taken to the hospital, where she died less than an hour later from her injuries. CMPD says speed and impairment do not appear to be contributing factors and says Jackson was not wearing a seatbelt.
Jackson was the only occupant of her vehicle. No other injuries have been reported.
