CMPD says a pedestrian was killed after being hit by a car last night on Independence Boulevard near Conference Drive. The department says the pedestrian was not in a designated crosswalk when he was hit around 8:00 p.m. Alcohol use by the pedestrian is suspected, according to police. His identity has not been released. CMPD says the driver was not impaired and that excessive speed does not appear to have been a factor.
