An 18-year-old was shot and killed in the Steele Creek area Sunday night. CMPD was investigating a shooting at a home on Carolina Forest Road around 10:30pm, when they heard shots close by and found a man with multiple gunshot wounds.
Terale Claridy-Vaught was pronounced dead on the scene. A swat team was called. Police told people in the neighborhood off Erwin Road early this morning to stay inside while they continued to search.
This was the second homicide in the Steele Creek area this weekend. On Saturday afternoon, police found 40-year-old Jameriane Ardrey dead in a motel on Archdale Drive. They were responding to a call of an overdose and found her boyfriend James Brewer in the room when they arrived. He's charged with murder and is being held without bond at Mecklenburg County jail.
