UNCC Shooter Indicted On Multiple Counts

The man accused of fatally shooting two UNC Charlotte students and injuring four others last week has been indicted by a grand jury.

Twenty-two-year-old Trystan Terrell was indicted on two counts of first-degree murder and four counts of attempted first-degree murder as well as four counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. He was also indicted on one count of possession of a firearm on educational property and one count of discharging a firearm on educational property.

Terrell who is a former UNCC student began shooting a handgun in a campus classroom on April 30 resulting in the death of Ellis Reed Parlier and Riley Howell. Police have credited Howell with tackling the gunman and preventing further violence.

Terrell’s case now moves from district to superior court. His next court date has yet to be scheduled.
