A woman was found shot to death early Tuesday along the side of Tom Hunter Road in north Charlotte.
Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department identified the woman as 31-year-old Therrisha Steward.
Police were called to the area near the intersection of West Sugar Creek Road and I-85 at 1:35 a.m. The woman was found on the side of the road with a gunshot wound. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
CMPD says detectives are searching the area and seeking witnesses.
