Modern Architecture in Charlotte Charlotte is beginning to become engaged in preserving Mid-Century Modern Buildings in the city, with the hope of avoiding the mistakes that have been made in past generations in terms of preserving local architecture. Today we'll learn exactly what qualifies as a Mid-Century Modern (MCM) structure, what makes it historic, some examples of these buildings here in the Queen City, and we'll meet a leading expert on preserving modern architecture to talk about the significance of these types of buildings.
