Debate over Controversial 'Israel Lobby' Continues

In March 2006, a controversial paper about the impact of the Israel lobby sparked intense criticism after it was published in the London Review of Books.

In the article, authors John Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt argue that America's unwavering support for Israel does not serve U.S. interests. The paper ignited bitter debates and the authors were accused of anti-Semitism.

Mearsheimer and Walt have formed the papers into a book, The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy.

Guests:

John Mearsheimer, professor of political science and co-director of the Program on International Security Policy at the University of Chicago; author of The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy

Aaron David Miller, public policy scholar at the Woodrow Wilson Center in Washington, DC
