More Charlotte-area students return to class this week, bringing heavier traffic

Several school districts in the Charlotte region return to class Monday, which is expected to increase traffic on roads across the area.
Union, Catawba, Hickory City, Newton-Conover, Caldwell, Anson, Richmond and Burke county school districts all begin classes Monday.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools students return to the classroom Tuesday.
Drivers should expect heavier traffic around schools and along major commuter routes during morning and afternoon travel times as students head back to class.
