Titan Arum & Botanical Gardens An unusual plant is scheduled to bloom shortly at UNC Charlotte's Botanical Gardens. The Titan Arum is native only to the rainforests of Sumatra, Indonesia. Its name translates to "Corpse Flower" because it smells like decaying fish, for a very strategic reason. We'll talk about the flower, named Bella, and the uses and benefits of botanical gardens. Guests Dr. Larry Mellichamp - Director & Biology Professor, UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens Kara Newport - Director, Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens Contact the show: 704-926-9323, 800-603-9323 or charlottetalks@wfae.org.
