CMPD Officer On Leave Pending Review Of Domestic Dispute

A CMPD officer is on paid leave while the department investigates a 911 call to the officer's home in Gaston County, WCNC-TV reports. The roommate of officer Gina Cook reported "a little bit of shoving" and "verbal abuse" when she made the call on July 7th, according to the 911 tapes obtained by WCNC. Cook is a 22-year veteran of CMPD and serves in the agency's K-9 unit. WCNC reports it's the second time she's been investigated for domestic violence. In 2003, a judge gave Cook deferred prosecution after she was accused of choking a woman.
