(04/06/06) - Guilford County Schools Superintendent Terry Grier withdrew his name as a finalist to head Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Grier was in the running with two others for the job in the bigger school district. But he said at a news conference this afternoon that his heart wasn't in it and that's why he dropped out. Grier also says he feels a deep moral commitment to the children of Guilford County. There were reports that community leaders in Greensboro urged Grier to remain in the district.
