A new book from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg public library publisher hits shelves today, and it's all about music. Dozens of writers and musicians contributed essays to the book about making and enjoying music in the Carolinas. Among them is a peice by local historian Tom Hanchett about a type of music unique to the United House of Prayer in Charlotte. WFAE's Julie Rose produced that piece featuring the Clouds of Heaven Trombone Shout Band and historian Tom Hanchett of the Levine Museum of the New South.
