A small helicopter crashed in a field in Iron Station, according to North Carolina Highway Patrol.
The pilot, riding alone, sustained minor injuries and was treated on the scene and released, according to a spokesman for the agency.
The crash occurred in the area of Every Drive and Leepers Street in a field on private property. The pilot was attempting to hover over his private property while operating a Mosquito XE, a home-built single seat helicopter, according to the spokesman.
