John Edwards Trial John Edwards enjoyed a long time as North Carolina's favorite son but he may also be the most star crossed politician in our state. From the death of his son at age 16, to the death of his wife Elizabeth to cancer and the scandal of an affair and an illegitimate child that brought down his run for the presidency, Edwards has seen incredible highs and tragic lows. Now he is in court for possible campaign finance violations and his fate is far from certain. We'll talk with folks following the trial, and Edwards career.
