The US relationship with Japan has a long and varied history, beginning back in the 1800’s. Today, the US ties with Japan are as strong as they ever have been, especially in terms of trade and international business. Charlotte’s Japanese connection is significant as well, with Japanese-owned businesses employing over 5,000 area workers. We’ll be joined by the former Ambassador to Japan, who continues his work in promoting the relationship between Japan and the US even after his official diplomatic work has come to an end.
