Here's a sad statistic: Cancer is the leading cause of death by disease for children in the United States. In fact, 42 children are diagnosed with cancer every day. That's more than 15,000 a year. The good news is that the cure rate is increasing but treatments are often painful and toxic with long-term side effects. The other good news is that we have people in Charlotte working on cures right now. We meet a few.
