Concerns over Russia expanded with emails from Donald Trump, Jr. The investigation is eclipsing new GOP efforts on health care. Mike Collins gets perspective from a panel of political observers.
The Trump White House is coming off another no-good, very-bad news cycle over the Russia investigation. Emails from Donald Trump, Jr., poked a hole in the months of denials that the Trump campaign sought or received Russian help in last year’s election.
The president’s son has been asked to testify to a Senate committee as early as next week, but the overall reaction from the Republican Congress has been muted. North Carolina Senator Thom Tillis said lawmakers shouldn’t be “distracted” by the Trump emails.
Meanwhile, Senate Republicans are taking another stab at health care reform, but right out of the gate they still facing skepticism from within the GOP caucus and this latest attempt could stumble like the previous one.
