Mike Collins is joined by Mayor Vi Lyles. And, once again, she’s bringing Charlotte City Manager Marcus Jones. On the morning after the proposed city budget for the next fiscal year is scheduled to be approved, we talk about what made it into the final budget, what didn’t and what it means. And we hear more about private sector funding for affordable housing from Atrium Health and Fifth Third Bank.

Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles is back for another edition of "Mike and the Mayor," and once again is City Manager Marcus Jones joins her.

The Charlotte City Budget will be adopted at Monday’s city council meeting, and on the morning after the budget adoption we’ll talk about what made it into the budget, what didn’t and what it means for city residents.

We’ll also talk to the mayor about the recent bump in private sector funding for affordable housing in the city last week from Atrium Health and Fifth Third Bank, to the tune of $20 million. What will that do to help our housing situation in Charlotte?

The discussions at city council about possible changes to the city's noise ordinance policy continue. We'll get the mayor's take on where the discussions stand and when a vote might take place.

And a new poll announced late last week says Vi Lyles is very popular as mayor, but city council is not.
