At least five candidates campaigned yesterday in South Carolina as the focus of presidential politics shifts to the state's first-in-the-South primaries later this month. An evangelical Christian, a woman and an African American are among the frontrunners, which means this year's primary in the Palmetto State could be especially interesting. For a preview, WFAE's Scott Graf spoke with Dr. Laura Woliver, a political science professor at the University of South Carolina.
