Construction Worker Fell Out Of Elevator In Uptown Charlotte, Police Say

Police said the male construction worker who fell from a building in uptown Charlotte Wednesday afternoon fell out of a construction elevator.

According to a CMPD statement, officers responded to a call for service in the 600 block of South Tryon Street a little before 4 p.m. Wednesday. Upon arrival, police found Mata-Hernandez, who had fallen out of a construction elevator that was at the 19th floor at the time of fatal incident. He was pronounced dead at the scene by medics.
