A 62-year-old man drowned in Lake Wylie early Sunday morning. Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have identified the victim as Victor Albert Wiggins.
CMPD says 911 received a call of a possible drowning at 2:16 a.m. Wiggins fell or jumped off a boat on a sandbar in the Steel Creek area, according to CMPD. There were three other people on the boat. CMPD says no foul play is suspected.
The Charlotte Fire Department says its dive team found Wiggins around 11 a.m.
