Officials with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department made an arrest in a 2008 quadruple homicide cold case. Dominick Daise, 32, was charged in those murders, but police don't believe he acted alone.

In 2008, someone flagged down a police officer saying they suspected that two people might be dead in an apartment on High Meadow Lane. When officers investigated, they found the bodies of four individuals: Andrew Babyak, Timothy Stone, William Royster and Cherilyn Crawford. CMPD has been investigating the case for 11 years. CMPD officials say they don’t believe Daise acted alone and detectives are still searching for other suspects.

“This was a horrific crime and something that really shook our town," CMPD Major Cam Selvey said. "I can’t say enough about the impact that it had. Everyone in the police department, as soon as we reference this case, people know of what we speak because they were here and they remember.”

Selvey did not reveal any possible motives or case details because he said the investigation is ongoing. He appealed to those who may know more about the crime to come forward.

CMPD’s cold case unit has reviewed 179 homicides dating as far back as 1979. Forty-nine of those cases have been cleared.
